For any new or existing client that signs up for a package of services with laurendesigns, you will receive a discount as follows: *All new clients will receive 10% off one project!

  • 5% off the total estimate if you sign up for any 3 services
  • 10% off the total estimate if you sign up for any 4 services
  • 15% off the total estimate if you sign up for 5 or more services
  • The standard estimate also includes time for meetings, email approvals, uploads and phone calls. This number estimated will depend on the scope of the project.

Overall: Graphic Design Hourly Rate. Estimates are good for 30 days. Estimates do not include printing. Prices are subject to change after that time. Deposits (50%) are required before starting a project. This can be in the form of check, Paypal, bank to bank transfer or money order. Once an estimate is agreed to a contract is sent out and this gets returned signed for our records. It also outlines all materials I need from you to begin to get the project started off on the right foot! I make it as easy as possible for you to start your business easily~

So you ask, what makes a great website?

Be organized:
Your site's content should be divided into appropriate sections, not pasted together on one long main page. Each section should be listed in a logical sequence.

Make it EASY to navigate:
Your site should let the visitor navigate through your site easily without having to hit the back button more than once. An attractive and intuitive navigation system is the first aspect of building a successful site. Remember that flash doesn’t utilize the “back button”.

Creativity via originality:
Make your website creative…and original. That is what were here for! We don’t steal ideas or use templates from other sites. All work is custom design.

Solid, CLEAR content:
This means that you have at least 5 pages (our most basic website) of useful content, not fluff. Be sure your download time isn’t excessive… customers will be more prone to stay if it has helpful material or it sparks their interest. If your site takes time to load or has any technical errors your more likely to lose your user. If they visit your site and can’t easily and quickly find what they’re looking for they’ll go somewhere else. Make sure to have your contact information on EVERY page on your site. At laurendesigns we design your site with all of these attributes in mind.

As mentioned above, proof your website for errors!
This is an essential component to maintaining a good website. It takes only a couple of minutes to quickly proof your content before publishing it live on the web. We will host your site on a “test” server so that you are able to look at each and every page. Please be sure to spell and grammar check thoroughly!

We know you love lots and lots of beautiful graphics BUT:
Too many graphics take TOO long to load. You don’t want to lose your user because your site sits and spins trying to load layers and layers of designs. All of our print work is beautifully layered and we know that you want to utilize the same designs the same way on the web. We aren’t saying your site can’t be beautiful, …some of that gorgeous design can be laid out but keep in mind the KISS rule (Keep It Simple Stupid)! Too many overwhelming graphics will bury your text and bring your site to a grinding halt!

Keep animations to a minimum:
The web is full of generic and annoying animations. Sometimes animations look like advertisements so avoid anything that flashes or blinks. Repetitive animations aren’t part of a good design. The same goes for looping music. We don’t offer the addition of music because most people click the “off” button. It’s a waste of time and money!

Back to the KISS rule:
Don’t overdue it just because you can! Animations, moving banners, flashing lights, blinking signs, books of text, etc... Too much is not a good thing. It will slow your load time down considerably and create a very irritated customer. People generally have a page they are trying to reach, or need to know what the main point of the site is right away, so they aren’t there to be entertained by gimmicks. In summary, the simpler your design and the more your text is to the point, the happier your end user will be~
