All kinds of good things have been happening here in the new year (well, not quite as new now). Our blog is up and a runnin' so be sure to check back every other week or so as we update it: www.laurendesigns.com/blog/inspire. We also have been busy editing and adding new news for you on our Facebook page. This is the spot to check most often as it's the easiest to keep fresh! Who doesn't Facebook so add us and tell your friends! This month we also have a competition where the person that refers the most "likes" wins one of our custom skateboards and wheels! A full set, designed by Lauren. It's pretty darn cool~

We just received BIG news that were going to be featured in yet ANOTHER Logo Lounge series book titled: Typography and Enclosures! This makes the total: 3 books and 7 logos! It's great to see smaller firms like us get attention in large publications. This book series gets thousands and thousands of entries so it's truly an honor to have our logos judged then printed in hardcover! Success.

Be sure to keep passing our name along as we are getting a TON of referral work. I'd say that 80% of our projects are based on our name and websites passed along so one, thank you and two, keep it up! Our savvy web programmer has also helped by upping our website in google rankings. A big thank you to Jaime for all the new traffic :)

We know, we know...the portfolio section needs (must) be done! In good news, it's been because we've been quite busy with our artistic endeavors, both work and play! It is in the process of being formatted so please check back often...it will be there, promise~

On that note (above) we are booking at least 2 weeks out so if you have urgent projects with tight timelines please contact us sooner then later. When the sun comes out and the flowers bloom here in NY, we bloom as well! It gets quite busy here and most projects require at least a week, most two!

FALL 2010
We have finally added a blog to laurendesigns.com! This “site of inspiration” can be found at www.laurendesigns.com/blog and will be edited weekly with inspiration, news, our latest & greatest projects and more! This will be the spot to check for laurendesigns updates so please bookmark the link and keep checking in on what we are up to!

SUMMER 2010
All kinds of things have been brewing here at laurendesigns. We have been very busy with a wide variety of new clients and design challenges.

HUGE news coming your way this month! laurendesigns was just notified that two of our logos will be featured in Logo Lounge’s "Animals and Mythology", the second book in their new Master Library series. This book will be published later this year and available through www.amazon.com. This is great exposure for our small company! Not long after this we were advised that another logo would be published in LogoLounge: Book 6! We are definitely on a roll!

In other big, BIG news laurendesigns was awarded a rather large photography contract with the company Biotronik! They are a leading European company in the field of biomedical technology. We are taking all of their new branding photography so we will be out in the flowering fields photographing all kinds of nature! This is a HUGE job for us and the start of a wonderful new corporate challenge, one we will not take lightly. Were ready to get our hands dirty and battle the elements to get the most beautiful and awe inspiring macro photography possible~…and so the journey begins….

The year in general…
Our biggest news has been having Kodak as a client, 2 years and still going strong! We are very excited to be working on a variety of projects for them, mainly digital illustrations for their new “printables” section of their website (greeting cards, templates, etc). We just completed a half year project that consists of design templates for small businesses. Check out www.Kodak.com and click on their “Tips and Project Center” to see all of our work! “For Your Business” was our latest collaboration with Kodak.

We have been working with all kinds of new clients lately so all kinds of new portfolio pieces are coming soon! From cupcake bakeries to salons & spas, snowboard clothing companies and real estate developers to hula hoopers we’ve had our hands in just about every type of company there is out there! Did I mention the yoga salon, fat-free brownies, specialty seamstress or medical concierge identity designs? All of these clients are all over the world too which has been an extremely humbling and enlightening experience! It’s been a true honor to work with such a variety of new businesses and people, which in turn has grown our little design firm from 1, to multiple designers, illustrators and web programmers!

In non-design news we would like to introduce “Monster Boo” to our ever-growing family of furry large-eared beings! He is our fourth Devon Rex to join the clan! Monster is a gorgeous pointed & white mix of absolute beauty but has gone through some extremely tough times. He’s not even 6 months old and we’ve been through 4 minor surgeries and one major, …sucking the life out of his poor momma too! It’s been an exhausting, tedious month to say the least! Happy to have him back in good health and life somewhat back to “normal”…whatever that is!
